ALL COPPERS ARE... (1972)
Peter Rogers, the producer of the Carry On… series, takes a rare step outside of his usual comedic territory with All Coppers Are…, turning his attention to the gritty side of London.
Director Sidney Hayers (The Persuaders, The New Avengers) helmed this fascinating glimpse of Britain at the turn of the decade, with stars Martin Potter (Fellini Satyricon), Julia Foster (Alfie), and Nicky Henson (Witchfinder General).
Joe is a young married copper in Battersea, grinding through long shifts and a joyless home life, when he finds himself drawn to Sue - the girlfriend of Barry, a charming small-time crook he encounters on his beat. As Joe and Barry circle each other, each aware of the other's interest in Sue, the line between law and lawlessness begins to blur in ways neither man anticipated.
Also featuring performances from Wendy Allnut (Oh! What a Lovely War), David Essex (The Big Bus), and Robin Askwith (The Canterbury Tales), and music from Carry On… composer Eric Rogers.
1500 copies only.
