April, 1945. As Germany stands on the brink of defeat, Hitler remains fiercely determined to avoid surrender, proclaiming that Germany will still achieve victory, ordering his generals and advisers to fight to the last man. With his military decimated and the Third Reich falling apart from the inside out, the pressure in the underground bunker mounts, and the unavoidable future becomes clear.
Based on the book Until the Final Hour by Hitler’s secretary Traudl Junge, and historian Joachim Fest’s book Inside Hitler's Bunker, Downfall is a remarkable feat of filmmaking, presenting a frighteningly realistic look inside the tormented final days of the infamous dictator.
