THE ICE STORM (1997)
As a dangerous ice storm descends on 1973 Connecticut, out in the suburbs two neighbouring, dysfunctional, affluent families seek escapism through substance abuse, adultery, and sexual experimentation. Ang Lee's masterful film charts the fallout of the sexual revolution in the stifled heart of Nixon-era suburbia and features an all-star cast including Sigourney Weaver, Kevin Kline, Joan Allen, Tobey Maguire, Christina Ricci, and Elijah Wood.
