A singing bandit kidnaps a movie star, hoping to learn how to become a real outlaw from the films he loves.
A romantic Mexican bandit idolizes the gangsters he sees in American movies and dreams of becoming a legendary outlaw himself. Hoping to learn the secrets of cinematic crime, he kidnaps a glamorous Hollywood actress and demands she teach him how the gangsters in the films operate. But as their strange arrangement continues, the actress begins to see a softer side beneath the bandit's bravado, and romance slowly develops between them. Directed with style and humor, the film mixes music, comedy, and adventure while gently parodying the gangster films that were dominating Hollywood in the 1930s.
